5-Methyltetrahydrofolate (5MTHF) is an active form of folic acid (folic acid is converted to this active form of folate in the body). 5MTHF provides the already converted and readily available source of folate for a multitude of processes fueled by this B vitamin, and is especially helpful when conversion is impaired.
